I'm Brandon Chin, thriller author and filmmaker based in Itoshima, Japan. I've spent 11 years across 39 prefectures, studying under the philosophy of Noh theatre, where the goal is never to explain but to evoke. Where silence carries more weight than dialogue.

Why a subscription instead of per-project?

What happens after I apply?
I review every application personally. If it's a fit, you'll get a link to book a 30-minute call within 48 hours. After the call, you choose a plan, get your request portal, and we start on your first story treatment, usually within the first week.
What kinds of stories can I request?
Brand origin stories, product narratives, vertical microdrama, episodic brand storytelling, founder series, recurring social formats, cultural or conceptual pieces, and trend-reactive content. If it has a narrative arc and fits your plan, it's in scope.
What don't you make?
Ads, explainers, talking heads, testimonial edits, or anything without a story arc. Yugen Films is storytelling only: that constraint is why the work stands out.
What does "one active request at a time" mean?
For Narrative and Series, I give one film my full attention before moving to the next request in your queue. Daily Social works differently: after the 1–2 week lock-in period, production shifts into a repeatable daily cadence built on your approved voice, style, and format system.
What if I don't like a film?
Every deliverable includes up to 3 revision requests. And because you approve the story treatment before production starts, we're aligned on the arc, tone, and visuals before a single frame is generated.
Can I pause my subscription?
